In recent days those of us who care deeply about protecting the vulnerable have been dealt some devasting news-with MPs voting in June to legalise Assisted Suicide and to de-criminalise Abortion, allowing for abortion up to birth. These are threats that we should care deeply about. Pope Leo has already issued a call to action, saying “No-one is exempted from striving to ensure respect for the dignity of every person, especially the most frail and vulnerable, from the unborn to the elderly”. We are living in very dark times – SPUC invites us all to join in the fight back, to make our voices heard and to stand up for the most vulnerable. If enough people stand up for the Pro-Life cause, then politicians will have to take heed of our concerns. SPUC urgently need all of us to join in the work to bring about real and lasting protection for unborn children and those at the end of life. If we do not fight back, we can only expect to have all our dignity and rights to life taken away from us. Do you want this to happen? If not, then please contact our local MP Lorraine Beavers at 4 Rossall Rd Cleveleys (open Wednesday – Friday 10am to 2pm) or send an e -mail to lorraine.beavers.mp@parliament.uk

FUTURE OF THE PARISHES IN OUR DEANERY ( Blackpool and North Fylde).  We have been asked to consider 2 questions:

  1. Do you want to be part of a church which is to be part of what God wants us to be and do with him in the future?
  1. What do you need to enable you and your parish to participate as fully as possible in God’s work?

Deanery meeting to discuss these questions on Saturday 15th November. More details to follow.
