Sharon’s Last Push for CAFOD
Throughout Lent Sharon Jones, one of our parishioners has taken up the sponsored Walk for Water CAFOD challenge.
She has been walking 10,000 steps per day and is now entering the final week of her challenge.
“I’m nearly at the end of my 40 days of walking. On some days it has become a bit of a drudge but that’s when I am closer to God, thinking of Abdella, (the Ethiopian boy) who has no choice but to do the same thing day in and day out.
My sincere thanks to family, friends and parishioners ,who have contributed to CAFOD during Lent 2021. Every little helps and hopefully, CAFOD will soon provide a solar powered water pump to Abdella’s village of Afar and give him the possibility of making his dreams come true for himself and his family and all other poor people everywhere.
Sharon currently stands to raise £420 for CAFOD.
You can help push that total a little higher by sponsoring Sharon using the following link-at https://walk.cafod.org.uk/fundraising/challenge-sharon
Other ways you can donate are by going to cafod.org.uk/give or via text. Text LENT to 70460 to donate £10.
*If you’d like to give £10 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text LENTNOINFO to 70460.
Alternatively cafod.org.uk/Fundraise/Family-Fast-Day which includes a Lent Calendar and
prayer card, the ‘Walk for Water’ scheme where we can be involved with and for Abdella. If you wish
to donate using the envelope, you can always do so by putting it through the presbytery letter box.
As always Sue Ward will be collating the donations, as our parish CAFOD representative.
